Trainspotting actor Kevin McKidd sells luxury mansion with swimming pool and spa

Scottish actor Kevin McKidd has sold his luxury Hollywood mansion for more than £4 million.

The Trainspotting star put the sprawling property in Los Angeles' Studio City area on the market earlier this year.

The 4,307 square-foot abode boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, spa and guesthouse.

McKidd, 48, previously tried to sell the home in 2020 but it was later put up for rent after he failed to find a buyer.

But property records show that it was recently purchased for £4.1 million.

Elgin-born McKidd, who plays Dr Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy, has made a healthy profit on the house after he and his wife Arielle Goldrath bought it for £3.75 million in 2019.

Built in 1986, the home is nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and set on top of a three-car garage.

A sales brochure for the property read: "Stunningly beautiful yet warm, intimate and very private, this home can be your sanctuary from the world or host a party with ease and sophistication.

"Located at the end of a cul-de-sac, safely tucked behind gates (entirely fenced) and surrounded by parkland with multiple outdoor patios, mature landscaping, grassy lawn, saltwater pool, spa and guesthouse, this home has it all.

"Entry level features a fabulous sun-filled living room with wood burning fireplace and sets of huge french doors which open to a travertine piazza & terraced gardens; gourmet eat-in kitchen, panelled dining room with built-in bar and powder room.

"Upstairs is the primary suite with spa-like bathroom, spacious dual walk-in closets and two more bedrooms and bath, all with gorgeous views.

"This home is truly a gem. Close to the all the best schools - public and private - Fryman Canyon hiking, Hollywood and Beverly Hills yet surrounded by nature. The attention to details, both inside and out, set it apart from anything else on the market today."

After studying drama at Edinburgh's Queen Margaret College, McKidd gained his big break playing tragic Leith resident Tommy in the 1996 big screen adaptation of Trainspotting.

He shot to fame in the States playing soldier Lucius Vorenus in hit TV drama, Rome and moved to LA after auditioning for short-lived US science fiction television series Journeyman.

A guest spot on Grey's Anatomy turned into a lead role, and, since arriving on the series, he has been named one of People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People.
