Audiences have had their first look at Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh playing lovers in the London romance drama We Live in Time after the trailer dropped on Wednesday.
Brooklyn director John Crowley is behind the camera for the A24 production, which is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Film 4 and London-based company SunnyMarch are also involved, with Benedict Cumberbatch getting a production credit with the latter being his company.
We Live in Time is set to be in cinemas on mainstream release in early 2025.
The trailer shows the film will see Tobias (Garfield) and Almut (Pugh) meet after she runs him over and takes him to hospital.
The narrative jumps forward and backwards in time over a decade, showing the pair courting, having a child and what looks to show Almut processing a cancer diagnosis.
A promotional statement from A24 reads: "As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley's decade-spanning, deeply moving romance."
Time and processing the here and now seem to be a key part of the premise.
“I’m not interested in a treatment that accidentally wastes our time,” says Almut when going through her options. “I can’t bear the thought of being forgotten,” she adds.
Tobias says at another point: “I am guilty of looking ahead instead of right in front of me.”
Adam James, Marama Corlett and Aoife Hinds are also part of the star-studded cast.
