Toyota Patent Turns Your Car Into A Photo Assistant

Toyota filed US patent application 2026/0261754 A1 for a system pairing interior gaze-tracking with exterior cameras to capture objects a driver looks at.
The filing says the system would send captured photos directly to a paired phone instead of storing them in the vehicle.
The patent proposes linking to a phone's health records or browsing history to infer what drivers want photographed.

Toyota has filed a patent for a car that watches where you look, not just where you drive. US application 2026/0261754 A1, titled "Systems and Methods for Capturing Driver-Relevant Road Scene Information," pairs an interior gaze-tracking camera with the exterior cameras most Toyotas already carry.
