Tottenham have suffered yet another injury blow with Cristian Romero poised to miss Sunday's game at home to Liverpool.
The north London outfit, who came from behind to beat Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday night, welcome the Reds as they look to push on with their top four ambitions. Antonio Conte will have to do so without his centre-half however, who is due to be sidelined for around 10 days.
The Argentine had missed Tottenham's last two games but is set to remain absent until the Premier League breaks for the World Cup.
Romero is not expected to miss out on his country's bid for glory in Qatar, but his club will have to make do without him for games against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup and Leeds.
Conte is already dealing without a host of major first team players. His injury list grew on Tuesday night after Heung-min Son was forced off with a head injury. The South Korean was dazed as he was helped off the pitch and is poised to miss the game with the Merseysiders.
Tottenham assistant Cristian Stellini said: "In this moment we don't know. We have to wait for a medical assessment. Sonny feels better now. I saw him in the dressing room, he celebrated with us. In this moment we don't know. We have to wait for a medical assessment and we have to wait until tomorrow. We are not sure if he is concussed. It is Son's face. His eye is a bit swollen."
The north London side are already dealing without several members of their forward line. Richarlison is nursing an injury, but is expected to return in time for the World Cup. Dejan Kulusevski is also sidelined which could test Conte's resources for the next week.

Tottenham currently sit third after their comeback win at Bournemouth on Saturday. Their total of 26 points comes from 13 games and leaves them three points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United, who have played a game less than their rivals.
They will host Liverpool buoyed by their late win in Marseille, which saw them top their Champions League group ahead of the knockout draw thanks to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg notching their stoppage time winner in the Stade Velodrome.
Tottenham's assistant said on their performance: "In the second half something changed and we spoke a lot in the dressing room about the energy we need in the second half about how we need to press them. In the first half we never did that. In the second this aspect change and we played a fantastic second half."
