Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal has sent a "phenomenal" message to Nottingham Forest left-back Renan Lodi after both players missed out on the Brazil World Cup squad.
Brazil boss Tete has recently named his 26-man squad for the upcoming tournament which begins on November 20, with Danilo, Alex Sandro, Dani Alves and Alex Telles being chosen as the preferred options at full-back.
That means both Lodi and Emerson, who have 24 caps for the national side between them, will not feature for Brazil in Qatar.

The two faced off against each other at the City Ground on Wednesday, with Forest knocking Antonio Conte's side out of the Carabao Cup after Lodi himself fired his side into the lead with a curling effort past Fraser Forster. Jesse Lingard then sealed the Reds' place in the fourth round with his first goal since signing for the club this summer.
Speaking in the aftermath of the clash and Brazil squad announcement, Spurs defender Emerson wrote the following message to his friend Lodi on his personal Instagram account. Translated into English, it read: "Weeping lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning! You are phenomenal brother, I love you."
