Fraser Forster
Started his first game in the mid-season break after picking up a minor knock in training. Saved well at his near post early on to deny Ross Barkley but there was little he could do after the break when Antoine Mendy netted from close range. 7
Japhet Tanganga
Started his third successive game and coped well on the whole given his lack of minutes so far this campaign. 6

Davinson Sanchez
Captained the team against Nice but had some moments to forget with some sloppy play and a few mistakes. Did make a good block to stop Nicolas Pepe testing Forster, however. Fared better after the break before he made way for Eric Dier in the 66th minute. 5
Clement Lenglet
On the left of the back three and looked to get forward on a few occasions. Decent outing from the Frenchman before Ben Davies came on in his place.. 6
Emerson Royal
Back in the team after his injury and got into some good attacking positions, notably in the second half. Went on a strong run in the first half that culminated in a chance for Bryan Gil, before later seeing a header and a low shot saved by Kasper Schmeichel. 6
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Pulled on a Tottenham shirt for the first time since the World Cup and kept the ball ticking over in midfield. Put himself about as always to make life difficult for the visitors. Subbed at the break. 6
Yves Bissouma
Got more minutes in the tank ahead of a possible start against Brentford with Rodrigo Bentancur suspended. Showed his range of passing throughout, including a brilliant crossfield pass to Matt Doherty on the left flank, and hit the side-netting in the first half in what was a bright display. 8
Matt Doherty
Carried on his impressive form during the mid-season break with his fourth strike in three games as he gave Kasper Schmeichel no chance with a powerful drive. Very impressive in the first 45 minutes with some good running and passing. Did make a good block seconds after the break but the ball fell kindly to Mendy to net. 8
Dejan Kulusevski
Got an assist to his name after teeing up Doherty with a precise pass. Tested Schmeichel with a low free-kick early on and brought him into action not long after the restart with a powerful drive. 7
Harvey White
Given another chance in the starting XI and took it with both hands as he showed some good touches and linked up well with the front three. Inches away from netting but his shot trickled wide of the target after Schmeichel had denied Emerson. 7
Bryan Gil
The Spaniard caught the eye with an energetic performance as he troubled Nice with his pace and trickery. Had a good chance to net prior to half-time but it was a simple save for Schmeichel. Final action was missing on occasions but he looked bright in his time on the pitch and that will have been noted by his boss. 8
Substitutes
Pape Matar Sarr (Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 46)
Introduced at the break in place of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and came up against familiar opposition following his time in Ligue 1. Impressed in the heart of midfield with some excellent touches and always linked up well with his teammates. Promising display from the youngster. 8
Eric Dier (Davinson Sanchez, 66)
Took on the captain's armband when he replaced Sanchez midway through the first half. Didn't have much to do despite Nice fashioning some openings. 5
Ben Davies (Clement Lenglet, 66)
Slotted straight back in on the left of the back three after his recent injury. 5
Son Heung-min (Harvey White, 74)
Given the final 16 minutes on his return from the World Cup but wasn't presented with a chance on goal. 5
Romaine Mundle (Emerson Royal, 74)
The academy ace was given a big opportunity in the final 16 minutes as he came on for Emerson and moved over to the left flank. 5
Alfie Devine (Dejan Kulusevski, 80)
Introduced in the final ten minutes. N/A
Will Lankshear (Bryan Gil, 89)
The summer addition was only on the pitch for a matter of seconds before the referee blew for full-time. N/A
