Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentis has hinted Luis Enrique is very much still in the frame to become the next boss at Tottenham.
The Serie A champions are on the hunt for their own next manager with Luciano Spalletti exiting for personal reasons after securing a first league triumph in 33 years. Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is the favourite to be named Antonio Conte's permanent successor but reignited interest in the former Barcelona manager would be warmly received in Glasgow's east end. Tottenham are in desperate need of a new leader. Daniel Levy is keen to identify an option who can reignite a side who finished in a lowly eighth in the English Premier League and will miss out on European football.
And now Napoli chairman De Laurentis admits he expects to miss out on Enrique to the Premier League. Speaking to Italian publication Rai, De Laurentis said: “For sure Luis is top coach, we discussed but I can tell you he has Premier League clubs in mind.
“I said that he won’t find same food or places there… but Premier League is more attractive, of course." Enrique is currently a free agent after leaving Spain following a misfiring World Cup and was strongly linked with Chelsea before they plumped for Mauricio Pochettino.
