Hot and bothered Brits are finding new ways to cool off when temperatures soar as new research finds four in ten of us hate hot weather.
And while many opt for cold drinks and ice creams to chill out, others find more imaginative methods.
Some 17% take frozen water bottles to bed, while 14% sit next to fans with wet tea towels on their heads.
One in ten have even shaved off all their body hair, while jumping into a wheelie bin filled with ice has become a favourite of 9%. Spicy food does the trick for 4%, who say a sweat-inducing cools them down.
And one in three are happy to stay inside all day, with the windows and curtains closed to avoid the scorching temperatures.
In the poll of 2,000 people by Pret A Manger, eight out of ten said the British are not cut out for hot weather.
