Tom Rogic in 'lucrative' post Celtic transfer offer as Asian club set deadline on final decision

Former Celtic hero Tom Rogic is ramping up talks over a move to Indonesia.

The 29-year-old left Celtic on a free transfer after a formidable season that saw him clinch the Premiership and named in the SPFL team of the season.

He then pulled out of Australia's World Cup play-off success after wins against United Arab Emirates and Peru, citing personal reasons as he looks for a new club.

The playmaker has been offered a lucrative deal to play in Indonesia with Persija Jakarta as former Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg boss Thomas Doll looks to revamp his side.

The Socceroo has reportedly been given until the end of next week to make his decision.

If he pens a deal he will join former Slavia Prague and Czech Republic cap Ondrej Kudela - who was at the centre of shocking racism row with Rangers.

The 35-year-old was banned for racist abuse of Glen Kamara which caused the Czech international to miss Euro 2020.

He finally dropped his long-running appeal in April against his ten-match ban imposed on him by UEFA and apologised for approaching Kamara.

He was released by Slavia and has opted to sign a two-year deal with Persija Jakarta.

Following the move, Kudela said: "I don't know much about them to be honest. I know this city has a population of 15 million and the club has three million fans, and they play in a big stadium there.

"Of course, I'm looking forward to it, I'm curious what it's like there. It will be something completely new. A step into the unknown."
