Tom McKibbin narrowly missed out on autmoatic qualification for the US Open by one shot at Walton Heath.
The Northern Irish golfer was one of four to share eighth spot with the top seven qualifying for the tournament at the Los Angeles Country Club from 15-18 June.
All is not lost for the Holywood man though as he secured one of the two alternate places on offer as he and Jordan Gumbert edged out Callum Hill and Andrew Wilson.

He now faces a waiting game and could still feature if anyone pulls out of the tournament.
The 20-year-old had tied for the lead as he finished with a seven-under-par 65 on the New Course in the first round, followed by a 72 on the Old Course despite when he came close to securing a play-off.
England's Ross Fisher and David Horsey qualified after coming through the final qualifying finishing joint second with Wilco Nienaber, a shot behind Nienaber's fellow South African Deon Germishuys.
Spain's Alejandro Del Rey, Sweden's Jens Dantorp and France's Matthieu Pavon completed the qualifying places.
