Tom McKibbin became the youngest man from the island of Ireland to win a DP World Tour title since Rory McIlroy when he took home victory at the Porsche European Open on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Holywood star held of a quintet of veterans to pick up the win in Hamburg with a final round of 70 securing a two-shot win.
The victory is sure to catapult McKibbin into the public consciousness. With his age and background, it's not too much of a stretch to draw comparisons to McIlroy.
For now, the youngster can focus on enjoying his win and can begin thinking about how he will spend his prize money.
Taking home a cheque for €317,000, McKibbin's bank balance is sure to be looking rather healthy.
With a €1.86 million prize fund, McKibbin certainly picked a good tournament to win his first professional title.
"It probably hasn't sunk in for me. It probably won't sink in until tomorrow," McKibbin told Sky Sports on Sunday evening. "But to have my dad here is special. He comes with me most weeks, and to win it in front of him was pretty amazing."
He added: "It feels pretty amazing. It was a good day. It was nice to put a really nice round together.
"I learned that I am good enough to win. I always thought I was but to prove it today was pretty special.
"I guess I learnt a lot from failures and missing cuts by a shot. And just missing things so slightly.
"So I took all those things and used them today."
