NFL legend Tom Brady ripped into his offensive line with a foul-mouthed tirade as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faltered and fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Brady’s Buccaneers slipped to a 3-3 season record as the Steelers - who moved to 2-4 - claimed a 20-18 win. Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky led Pittsburgh to the unlikely triumph after replacing injured rookie Kenny Pitckett.
Trubisky threw a six-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter while Brady struggled against the Steelers defence to snap a four-game losing streak. The 45-year-old finished with 243 yards and a touchdown as he ultimately enjoyed little time to throw behind the line.
Brady was furious with his teammates and was caught laying into them in the second quarter. The impassioned rant came after the offensive line were clearly struggled against a team that had just three sacks in the last four games coming into Week 6.
“You’re so much better than the way you’re f****** playing,” Brady was overheard shouting to his linemen before cussing further. The rant was picked up by the FOX Sports broadcast and highlighted Brady’s frustrations as the Bucs offence stagnated at Acrisure Stadium.
Brady scored his only touchdown pass of the day with 4:38 remaining as he found Leonard Fournette for an 11-yard score, which cut Pittsburgh’s lead to two. Steelers linebacker Devin Bush broke up the two-point conversion and Trubisky made plays to hold the ball and run out the clock to secure a much-needed victory.
Do you think Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can win Super Bowl LVII? Let us know in the comments section.
It’s not the first time the seven-time Super Bowl champion has cut a frustrated figure on the sideline this season. During the Buccaneers’ tight 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints, Brady aggressively threw a Microsoft Surface tablet to the ground which sparked a frenzy on social media.
The quarterback travelled to the game alone after attending New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s surprise wedding on Friday night. The 81-year-old tied the knot with Dana Blumberg in a glamorous bash that saw British musicians Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John both perform.
Brady was the only Bucs player at the wedding and arrived in Pittsburgh on Saturday evening via private jet after the rest of his team had travelled separately.. He will hope to lead the Buccaneers back to winning ways in Week 7, when Tampa Bay will travel to Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium to take on the 1-5 Carolina Panthers.
