Tom Brady issued a retirement 'ultimatum' by Gisele Bundchen despite NFL star's choice

The NFL world is wondering how long is left until Tom Brady finally decides to retire, but Gisele Bundchen has allegedly told him it better be soon after offering him an ultimatum.

Brady made a stunning U-turn this summer as he returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after initially announcing his retirement. It's not been the best of starts for Brady or the Buccaneers though, but the veteran quarterback seems keen to continue on into the future regardless.

But Brady's wife has reportedly said she will 'leave him for good' if he doesn't quit the sport, amid claims that the couple are now living separately. It's not clear whether she wants him to stop now, or at the end of the season, but Brady has already said he doesn't want to retire.

According to US Weekly, Bundchen has informed him that he 'either leaves football to spend time with the family or she will be gone for good'. But this is a huge problem for Brady, as he recently claimed that he's made a commitment to the Buccaneers.

"I said that there's no immediate retirement in my future. There was a retirement in the past, but I moved on from that," Brady said on his 'Let's Go' podcast, via Pro Football Talk. "I made a commitment to this team and I love this team and I love this organisation.

"I told them in March I was playing and I've never quit on anything in my life. And I know a bunch of teammates that we all count on one another to be at our best and to work hard and to put the team first.

"And that's what you commit to and that's what you want your teammates to commit to as well." Brady's wishes go completely against the alleged ultimatum, and now all eyes are on the quarterback's future.

This isn't the first time that Bundchen has pushed for Brady to think about quitting either, as she spoke about her concerns back in 2017.

Bundchen spoke in an interview with Charlie Rose, and was worried about the impact that hits and concussions could have on Brady. "I just have to say, as a wife, I’m a little bit — as you know, it’s not the most — let’s say [it’s] an aggressive sport," she said in May 2017.

"Football, like he had a concussion last year. I mean, he has concussions, pretty much, I mean, we don’t talk about [it] but he does have concussions. I don’t think it’s a healthy thing for your body to go through like — you know, to that kind of aggression all the time.

"That cannot be healthy for you, right? I mean I plan on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we’re like 100, I hope." Brady has a contract with Fox Sports to work as an NFL analyst which will kick in as soon as he ends his playing career.
