Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister is expected to leave the south coast in the summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The versatile midfielder has been linked with an exit from the Seagulls ever since his starring role in Argentina's World Cup triumph, alongside Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez.
Every member of the Premier League's traditional 'big six' have been linked with Mac Allister but now only three clubs are firmly in the race. As football.london reported in late March, Mac Allister is a serious option for Chelsea amid the possibility of forming the World Cup-winning partnership he had with Fernandez for Argentina in west London.
Last week, TyC Sports revealed that Manchester United and Liverpool are also in the hunt to land Mac Allister. Their report added that two of the clubs are "already negotiating" for a potential transfer ahead of the summer window in a couple of months

Italian journalist Romano has now backed up that report with his latest update on Mac Allister's future adding when the three interested parties could sign the 24-year-old.
Speaking in his latest YouTube video, he said: "At this moment from what I understand the Argentinian midfielder has three clubs interested. One is Chelsea, they are looking for a new midfielder and are exploring many options. So, Chelsea are in the race for Mac Allister because they appreciate the player, but they are not alone in this race and it is not decided yet [where he will go].
"Liverpool are also interested in Alexis Mac Allister. They asked about [Moises] Caicedo from Brighton but they are also interested in Mac Allister. I'm told there will be contacts on Liverpool's side to understand the conditions of the deal.
"Chelsea and Liverpool are interested but so are Manchester United. He is waiting and hoping for a summer move and the expectation is for him to get a summer move. We must respect Brighton and we know they are tough in negotiations."
Romano went on to rule out significant interest being prominent from Manchester City and Arsenal, while also revealing when a move could occur. "At the moment it is just three clubs in the race. The player will take his time and speak to many people close to him to make the best decision as it could be an early summer move on the market."
Mac Allister father, Carlos, also provided a huge update on the future of his son practically confirming he will not be a Brighton player at the start of the 2023/24 season. “Normally, the upcoming transfer market will find him playing for another club, we don't know which one yet as the talks are starting," he told Argentinian news outlet PuroBoca. “It’s very likely that Alexis will be playing in another team in the summer”.
