We were waiting for the corresponding move to make room for the signing of Tarell Basham, and now the Tennessee Titans have made it.
The team made the signing of Basham to the 53-man roster official, while also announcing the placement of wide receiver Cody Hollister on injured reserve with a neck injury.
Hollister will miss at least the next four games, but there’s a good chance he won’t play again this season, as the Titans are unlikely to use one of their return designations on him.
The addition of Basham, who the Titans are listing as an outside linebacker rather than a defensive end, gives Tennessee a fourth player at the position on their roster, along with Bud Dupree, Rashad Weaver and Ola Adeniyi.
The Titans were carrying just two for much of the season with Adeniyi sidelined. He returned to action in Week 13, though.
Basham will have an opportunity to work his way into the Titans’ rotation of pass-rushers, which has been short Denico Autry the last two games, leading to terrible results.
Autry’s status remains up in the air, but thankfully the corresponding move for Basham wasn’t Autry going to IR, which gives hope he could be back either this week or next.
