Tiny disabled dog with missing tail is 'ray of sunshine' and deserves loving home

A tiny dog who was named after her "bright and beautiful personality" is looking for a loving family to accept her missing back legs and tail.

Disabled pup Sunny suffered a broken spine before Flori’s Friends Rescue took her in and transformed her life.

Now, the sweet little girl has had a rear leg and tail amputation and bounces like a little kangaroo when she's isn't in her wheels.

Natalia George, founder of the animal charity in Kent, said: "We named her Sunny as she came to us on a dark, rainy day and she was just an absolute ray of sunshine.

"Anyone who gets Sunny will be the luckiest person on earth, as she is an absolute joy to have around - which is incredible after all she has been through in her short life."

Natalia describes Sunny as "the perfect mix of cuddly and playful" and says she gets on with dogs, cats, adults and kids.

"She is honestly the best dog we have ever had in," Natalia added.

Three-year-old Sunny came to Flori's Friends Rescue all the way from Scotland, and has been nursed back to full health and happiness by the incredible team in Kent.

"Now it's time for her to find a forever family and make space for us to save another," Natalia said.

"She will be sorely missed when she goes but we cannot keep them all."

Sunny is an active girl who loves long country walks and playing on the beach - and smiles "from ear to ear" when she's outside.

"Sunny is fantastic off lead and is extremely well-mannered with everyone she meets," Natalia said.

"On an evening, Sunny will curl up on your lap by the TV and give you the best cuddles."

Due to her incontinence, Sunny requires nappies and an adopter who is able to empty her bladder four times a day.

"All adopters get full training with us on how to do this. It's pretty easy once you know how so we will be considering first-time disabled dog owners," Natalia said.

Sunny comes with a £700 custom-made wheelchair, playsuits and nappies so potential owners needn't worry about buying equipment.

She must go to a home with at least one other small dog to play with, as she's a "sociable butterfly".

"I really would love to see Sunny find her dream home to continue thriving," Natalia said.
