It’s nothing short of a miracle to see Tiger Woods walking around a golf course again after his 2021 car accident left him with significant leg damage.
That he was even able to play at The Masters a year later is even more spectacular. And when Woods said he was going to return to competition at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 2022 PGA Championship, there was even a glimmer of hope that he just might find himself in contention.
Instead, Woods’ was forced to withdraw from the field on Saturday after finishing his third round with a score of 79 to put him at 12-over par for the weekend. It’s a rough reminder that Woods’ journey back into golf will be anything but easy and certainly not linear.

The golf icon began the tournament +1500 to finish in the top five and +650 to make the top 10 at Tipico Sportsbook.
Woods appeared to have some difficulty with his leg at the end of Thursday’s opening round, but still battled back to make the cut on Friday with an amazing round of 69. Even then, it was apparent Woods was struggling to get around the course.
