Thunder rookie Jalen Williams might actually care about your parlays after all

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Jalen Williams has been on a tear over the last month.

Since Feb. 7, he’s increased his numbers across the board, averaging more than 20 points on 57% shooting, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. He’s truly having a Rookie of the Year-caliber season.

He also might have just revealed the root of his uptick in production.

A couple weeks before his tear, Williams let the gaming world know he didn’t care about their parlays or fantasy leagues. He made the comment after reaching 40 career games, at which point he was averaging about 12 points on 51% shooting, four rebounds, three assists and one steal.

One Twitter user responded with a jab that must’ve stung a little bit, because Williams finally responded to it Sunday after scoring a career-high 32 points in a win over the Utah Jazz.

Hey man, whatever it takes to get you going.

Williams’ surge is probably too late to make him a real ROY contender, with Orlando’s Paolo Banchero the runaway favorite at -2500 odds at BetMGM. But there’s no denying Williams is balling, and his odds have climbed all the way to third at +4000.
