This Morning viewers were thrilled on Monday when they tuned in to see television presenter Ruth Langsford back on their screens hosting the daytime programme alongside Rylan Clark. The duo will be fronting the ITV morning show all this week as they stand-in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who are still on their summer break.
Both Rylan and Ruth were teasing their return to the sofa with their fans over the weekend. Posting on Instagram on Sunday (August 21), Loose Women anchor Ruth, 62, said she was "excited to be reunited with her "TV son" on Monday, sharing a couple of clips of the pair having fun when they previously presented the show.
Meanwhile, also taking to Twitter on Sunday, 33-year-old Rylan shared a sweet snap hugging his TV mum Ruth on the set of This Morning. In the caption he wrote: "For one week only… tomorrow until Friday… it’s me and the tele mum @RuthieeL on @thismorning".
Viewers took to Twitter to say how "fantastic" it was to have the pair back on their television screens as part of the summer stand-in team and that Ruth was "back where she belongs". Dave posted: "Ruth and Rylan are presenting #thismorning, all is right with the world." Jill added: "Feels SO good to have @ruthieeL back and Rylan. #thismorning."
Mell Maggie tweeted: "It was really good to have ruth and Rylan I watched it and enjoyed it I stopped watching a few months ago it just became stale and boring." Rachel added: "Ruth and Rylan!!!! Can these two always be on #thismorning please?"
Jane posted: "Not gonna lie… I’m a little bit excited for @RuthieeL and @Rylan back in the hot seats #ThisMorning @thismorning." Mike said: "I think Ruth and rylan are a good presenting combination #ThisMorning."
Debbie Cole said: "Fantastic to see you back Ruthie! You are so missed on this morning!" Fi tweeted: "Yay Ruth and Rylan! Ruth's back where she belongs Love her hair, she looks 10 years younger! #thismorning."
A number of viewers were also asking for a more permanent shake-up to the presenting team. Nicola Webb said: "Can we sack off all the others and have Josie & Craig Mon-Thurs and Ruth & Rylan on a Friday please! #ThisMorning."
