Thieves drive off with five luxury cars worth over £700k

Shocking CCTV has captured a gang of brazen thieves as they break into a car pound and drive off with five luxury vehicles worth £700,000. The thieves broke into the locked pound using bolt cutters in the dead of night before making off with their haul of supercars at high speed.

Among the vehicles stolen in the daring raid last month was Porche 911 Carrera and a Mercedes AMG A45. Essex police today released a video showing the suspects making off in the cars.

They had entered the industrial unit in Bulphan, near Brentwood, Essex, on Nov 11 using bolt cutters on the front gate. The video shows one figure opening the heavy metal gate as one car waits with its headlights on.

The person is seen propping open the gate with a traffic cone. Five cars then swiftly drive through the gates and out onto Brentwood Road, Essex. One car stops outside to wait for the person holding the gate. They can then be seen sprinting to the car before driving off. It is not known how the thieves got into the cars.

A rare Ariel Atom racing car, a Mercedes A45 AMG 4matic, a Porsche Cayenne, a Porsche 911 Carrera and a Mercedes Maybach were all taken that night at 4.44am. Police were then called to the scene later that morning.

The police are still on the hunt for the offenders, having recovered the Mercedes Maybach. They are appealing for anyone who witnessed the theft or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
