These are the results in the top five most expensive Florida State House elections

General elections for all 120 districts in the Florida House of Representatives took place on Nov. 8, 2022. Of the 120 districts up for election in 2022, 79 had a general election with more than one candidate.

Across all contested general elections, candidates raised $27.7 million. Incumbents raised an average of $296,632 per candidate and challengers raised an average of $114,587 per candidate.

Five general elections with the most fundraising

The table below details the five general elections with the most fundraising in the House of Representatives. Winning candidates’ names are in bold.

The officeholders above are listed for the current districts they hold. However, this is a redistricting year, so candidates have been identified below as incumbents even if they are running in a different district than they currently hold.

#1 District 38 – $1,186,322

Incumbent David Smith raised $890,527 and Sarah Henry raised $295,796.

David Smith won with 52 percent of the vote and Sarah Henry received 48 percent of the vote.

#2 District 60 – $861,213

Audrey Henson raised $495,033 and Lindsay Cross raised $366,180.

Lindsay Cross won with 54 percent of the vote and Audrey Henson received 46 percent of the vote.

#3 District 69 – $782,583

Incumbent Andrew Learned raised $432,750 and Danny Alvarez raised $349,834.

Danny Alvarez won with 57 percent of the vote and Andrew Learned received 43 percent of the vote.

#4 District 17 – $764,739

Jessica Baker raised $753,188 and Michael Anderson raised $11,551.

Jessica Baker won with 61 percent of the vote and Michael Anderson received 39 percent of the vote.

#5 District 100 – $760,274

Incumbent Chip LaMarca raised $667,937 and Linda Thompson Gonzalez raised $92,337.

Chip LaMarca won with 57 percent of the vote and Linda Thompson Gonzalez received 43 percent of the vote.

The data above are based on campaign finance reports that active Florida PACs submitted to the Florida Department of State. Political expenditures that are not controlled by candidates or their campaigns, known as satellite spending, are not included in candidate totals. Federal PACs are not required to report to state agencies. Transparency USA publishes campaign finance data following major reporting deadlines.
