The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran joins Dancing On Ice to do late pal Tom Parker proud

Siva Kaneswaran has been confirmed as the final contestant for the 2023 Dancing On Ice lineup.

The Wanted singer was announced on Tuesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain as hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid broke the exciting news - much to the delight of ITV viewers.

Before the official announcement, rumours had been rife that Siva was the final celebrity to join the stellar line-up.

Following the announcement, Siva said that he's been suffering with incredible nerves and is riddled with 'fears' about joining the show.

"I have to be honest, I'm terrified," he told hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid.

Siva also said that he's doing the series for his late friend, Tom Parker, who passed away earlier this year after battling a brain tumour.

As well as reportedly Siva, those getting their skates on next year are: former pop star Michelle Heaton, DJ and soap star Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, and Coronation Street ’s Mollie Gallagher.

Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, TV personality Joey Essex, comedian and Love Island Aftersun host Darren Harriott and Carley Stenson, will also be joining the show.

Following the announcement of the final contestant for Dancing On Ice 2023, ITV fans have insisted that the stellar lineup is the best one in years.

The announcement was made on Good Morning Britain (ITV)

"Ekin-Su, Joey Essex, The Vivienne!!!! I'm sorry but this is the best lineup with the best celebrities ever. Can't wait for Dancing On Ice to start," one fan gushed.

"I just know Ekin-Su is gonna be amazing!! Dancing On Ice 2023 has the best celebrities omg," another echoed.

A third added: "So excited about the cast of Dancing On Ice this year."

While a fourth enthused: "Great! I'm not going to have a life now that all these celebs are on Dancing On Ice. Joey Essex ladies and gentleman."

Former Liberty X singer Michelle was the second last celebrity to be announced by ITV last week.

Michelle has been 18 months sober and feels healthier than ever, believing that she's finally at the stage where she can compete.

Speaking on Lorraine, she said: "I’m so excited - I can’t believe it. Me and the kids are such huge fans of the show in general. I’ve always wanted to do it but I know I would never have been able to complete anything because of the way I was 18 months ago, so I’m really truly grateful that I’ve got it this year when I’m a lot stronger.”

Elsewhere, Joey Essex spoke about his delight at being part of Dancing on Ice, when he appeared on This Morning last Friday.

The former TOWIE star told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: "I'm so happy, I'm so excited. It's more serious to what I normally do, I've done all the dating shows in the world. This is a bit more serious for me."

"I used to go to foam parties in a dancing rink, I'm not the best skater. I done [ice skating] when I was maybe 11, or 12, but nothing proper, no."

Meanwhile, EastEnders ' Patsy Palmer was the fist contestant to be confirmed for the 2023 series.

The actress and DJ, known for playing Bianca Jackson, told Holly and Phil on This Morning: "This was the one that I had to really think about.

“Obviously I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work, get out of my comfort zone.

“I just thought, I’ll just go for it. It seems a lot of fun, I do like ice skating but I'm not an ice skater or figure skater."

The new series of Dancing On Ice kicks off early next year in 2023.
