Commenting on the news, McGregor simply wrote "Ireland" on Twitter.
The Dubliner has had a difficult start to life as a coach this season with two of his fighters already suffering devastating knockout defeats.
McGregor has also been involved in some lively verbal exchanges with opposition coach Michael Chandler and things are expected heat up between the pair as the series progresses.
Former two-weight UFC champion McGregor is due to face Chandler later this year although no date or weight class has been announced.
This is McGregor's second time coaching on the show after his appearance in 2015.
