Every Welsh child remembers visiting Oakwood Park, either on a school trip or with their family and friends during the summer holiday. But there’s one ride that people claim always left a mark - the dreaded vertical red slide, or previously known as ‘Sky Leap.’
Previous visitors of the Pembrokeshire theme park took to Facebook to share their memories of visiting Oakwood and trying out the infamous slide. Many shared how they were terrified of the ride back in the day.
“[I] remember seeing this as a kid thinking ‘that doesn’t look too high.’ When going up and sitting on the edge looking down ‘nope I’m getting off.’ I did do it eventually when I was a bit older…ahh the memories of fearing it,” said Cerys Sian Robers.
