The Met Office and BBC Weather forecasts for the Bank Holiday weekend

Areas of low pressure in the Atlantic and a movement of the jet stream are sending weather fronts and showery conditions across the UK over the coming days, but the forecast for the bank holiday weekend is much better. After changeable weather conditions over the weekend and into the start of next week, high pressure looks set to take charge in time for next weekend.

The forecasting agency says that the trend through to the middle of next week is for the weather to slowly turn drier and a little warmer.

However, forecasters add is currently no indication that we will see a return to the heatwave conditions of earlier this month, with temperatures likely peaking Wednesday.
