After two years off our screens the hit medical drama The Good Karma Hospital is returning with a brand new series.
Following the shock exit of Dr Gabriel Varma at the end of series three, fans of the show will be eager to see what's next in store for Dr Ruby Walker and the team at The Good Karma Hospital.
This new six-part series will see the The Good Karma Hospital as "busy as ever" according to broadcaster ITV and there will be some new characters thrown into the mix too.

Two new doctors are going to be arriving on the scene and because of Dr Gabriel's unexpected exit will be a much needed help for the busy medical centre.
Dr Lydia Fonseca played by Amanda Redman will also be forced this series to confront her past and decide what she wants for her future when her partner Greg McConnell played by Neil Morrissey has a problem with his visa.

When is The Good Karma Hospital next airing on ITV?
The new series of The Good Karma Hospital will premier on ITV and ITV Hub from Sunday, January 23 from 8pm.

Returning to the cast for the new series will be:

Joining the medical team in the hospital for series four will be:
- Harki Bhambra (Call the Midwife, Our Girl) as Dr Samir Hasan
- Rebecca Ablack (Ginny & Georgia) as Dr Niki Sharma
Harki teased what was in store for his new character Dr Samir Hasan in this new series: "He’s taken out of his comfort zone quite a lot because he’s a surgeon but obviously working at The Good Karma Hospital means you are faced with all sorts of medical cases that he wouldn’t have gone near before coming to India. There are also a lot of personal issues and baggage that he brings with him. There is a lot to unpick through the series."
Is James Krishna Floyd returning to The Good Karma Hospital?
After his sudden and shock exit at the end of series three, it's not yet been confirmed if James Floyd who plays Dr Gabriel Varma will be returning to the series.
In June 2021, James announced on his Twitter that the cast would be returning to film a fourth series but revealed he had "no idea" if his character Gabriel would be returning too.
He tweeted: "Yes it's true #GoodKarmaHospital series 4 is officially happening. The lovely fans may have already heard through the online vine but it's being filmed at some point this year. And no, I have no idea which characters are in it, including Gabriel. But. GKH4. Is. Coming."
Where is The Good Karma Hospital filmed?
The Good Karma Hospital is filmed on the island of Sri Lanka, off the coast of South East India.
Speaking of returning to film in Sri Lanka during the pandemic, Amanda Redman said: "I love Sri Lanka. I love the Sri Lankan crew, the British crew. I love the cast. I’m so happy out there, I always have been. It is such a beautiful country so I was thrilled when we finally were able to come out.
"It was different of course because of Covid, we were in lockdown for a long time when we first arrived. The positive side of that, was all of us staying in our bubble, in the hotel, we became a really tightly knit family. There was so much laughter and a lot of love. That was very special."
