It's that time of the year where Michelin reveals its annual culinary guide as well as which restaurants and eateries from across the country have earned themselves a coveted star.
And, following the ceremony on Monday evening at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, only Edinburgh was left celebrating after the capital was announced as the only Scottish location to receive any new stars (two in fact).
Following on from the success of the past few years where Glasgow finally got stars - first Cail Bruich in 2021, thanks to the efforts of chef Lorna McNee followed by Unalome and chef Graham Cheevers in 2022 - it appears 2023 is not our year after the city. While we have held onto our two current two stars, the city did not receive any new accolades.

With that in mind, we thought we would take a look at some of the contenders we would put forward for next year. Who would you pick out?
Here are our choices of those restaurants in Glasgow we think are deserving of a future Michelin Star:
Glaschu
This elegant fine-dining restaurant in Royal Exchange Square is doing all the right things, and with the team behind Góst and popular gastro pub The Duke’s Umbrella and talented chef John Molloy overseeing the menus, there is plenty to be excited about.
There are plenty of amazing dishes to enjoy, including their iconic Beef Wellington and we reckon they are worthy of top accolades.
Celentano's
This intimate restaurant already features in the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand and we imagine it wouldn't be a great stretch for it to push on and compete for a star. Found at the historic Cathedral House Hotel, it mixes the very best in Scottish produce with Italian culinary flair.
Ox & Finch
Already a veteran of the Bib Gourmand (nine years in a row no less), Ox & Finch is one of the first names on people's tongues when anyone asks where the best restaurants in town are. With its vibrant Mediterranean small with modern twists, there are plenty of reasons for this famous restaurant to be awarded at the highest level.
The Gannet
Recently named among the top 10 best fine dining restaurants in the UK, and under the guidance of one of the country's top chefs in Peter McKenna, there is plenty of reason for the Gannet to be added. Not only do they serve some truly exquisite dishes but their front-of-house team are second to none when it comes to service.
