WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE CHALLENGE AHEAD!
Ready?
Season 38 of The Challenge is here: Ride or Dies, which pairs up competitors with one family member, friend or significant other as pairs try to win money. There are sure to be twists and turns that we’ll see throughout the season that might change everything.
As usual, we’ll do some power rankings each week to see who’s in the lead … and who could fall short.
In this week’s episode: An all-time great elimination leads to one of the more powerful pairings to go home, another set of players are coming into the game and more.
1
Bananas and Nany
Still No. 1 without a doubt. We know who’s running this house even if they didn’t win anything this week.
2
Devin and Tori
Given what Tori has spoken about this season, it was so hard for her to see her ex-fiance Jordan enter the house with her friend Aneesa as his partner. But when she had that talk with Jordan … wow. Lots of tears.
3
Horacio and Olivia
WOW! We saw last week how good these two were … and then they were pretty good in this week’s challenge: Build Me Up, in which the teams had to take six heavy barrels to three stations and stack them up to hit a button before lugging them to the finish.
But they got thrown into elimination — Analyse and Tommy made the right decision, even if they double-crossed these two, we’ll get to that — and that’s where we saw it: They had to go three rounds in the modfied Hall Brawl but they WON.
Serious contenders!
4
Jordan and Aneesa
I’ll say they start here as a former champ and a legendary vet form a really, really good team.
5
Kenny and Kaycee
Not a ton from them this ep but we know they’re strong.
6
Laurel and Jakk
Still a big fan of these two, although what’s going on with Laurel and Faysal … or her and Horacio?
7
Faysal and Moriah
Lots to talk about here: They move up with a win in the weekly challenge, they handled nominations perfectly, the pick to throw in Johnny and Ravyn was smart, good stuff all around.
But Faysal: Once again, your social game needs work! He’s canoodling/cuddling/whatever you want to call it with four different women in the house? Not a good idea! For so many reasons!
Supportive Ride or Dies for the win 🤞💙 #TheChallenge38 pic.twitter.com/dQOWsS1pKL

8
Nelson and Nurys
It’s been 556,712 days since Nelson won a daily challenge. Or something.
Maybe today will be the day Nelson gets a daily challenge win 😅 #TheChallenge38 pic.twitter.com/U8GMrRQnNc

9
Jay and Michele
Maybe they should be lower given that their alliance with the rookies completely fell apart.
10
Chauncey and Amber
In an episode with tons of drama, maybe it’s a good thing they stayed out of it.
11
Tommy and Analyse
Rookie mistake! They promised both Kim and Colleen AND Horacio and Olivia that they’d save them if they picked the SAFE dagger in elimination.
What happens? They get the SAFE dagger and automatically have to break a promise. Throwing in Horacio and Olivia was the right move in terms of game at that point — that’s a strong couple against a similarly strong couple in Johnny and Ravyn … but now both couples they double-crossed are still in the house.
Welp.
12
Kim and Colleen
Feels like they’re going to be eliminated in the next couple of episodes.
13
Johnny and Ravyn (eliminated)
Ugh. They started out so strong, leading an intriguing group of rookies to mostly unite.
I’d say Johnny’s relationship with Nurys didn’t help, but ultimately, it was Horacio and Olivia being stronger that ended their time this season.
BONUS: Another pairing has entered the fray post-elimination! We’ll rank ’em next week.
