A group of Manchester United players have been confirmed to have attended first-team training on the first day of pre-season at the club's Carrington training base on Monday.
It marked the beginning of a new era at the club with manager Erik ten Hag meeting his players and taking charge of training for the very first time. He arrived at Carrington at around 8am in a chauffeur-driven people carrier, before being followed a short time afterwards by assistant Steve McClaren.
United's first wave of players started to arrive shortly before 9am, including David de Gea and Donny van de Beek. The Manchester Evening News understands that some players who arrived early were still at the training ground after 4pm.

As well as several senior figures attending training on the first day of the new era, such as Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial, who were both filmed arriving at Carrington by the club, a cluster of youngsters were also in attendance, such as Ethan Laird, Alvaro Fernandez, Charlie Savage and Shola Shoretire, plus others. They were all pictured in images that have been published by the club and outside agencies.
Surprisingly, fellow youngster Alejandro Garnacho also reported. He was not expected to return to Carrington just yet after recently representing Argentina's Under-20s at the Toulon Tournament. He last played on June 10.
Garnacho, like other members of United's international contingent, was entitled to three weeks off, meaning he is likely to attract praise from the supporters for returning early. The likes of Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are among those currently still away.
Images of Marcus Rashford, despite him attending, were not published in the first wave of photographs that were published. However, images of him were later shared, just as they were of Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Amad.
There was no sign of goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who recently got married and has been away on honeymoon. He is understood to be close to joining Nottingham Forest on loan.
The confirmed list of 27 players who attended the first day of pre-season: David de Gea, Tom Heaton, Nathan Bishop, Matej Kovar; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ethan Laird, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Bjorn Hardley, Will Fish, Luke Shaw, Brandon Williams, Alvaro Fernandez; Donny van de Beek, Ethan Galbraith, Charlie Savage, Charlie Wellens, Zidane Iqbal; Tahith Chong, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony Martial, Shola Shoretire, Noam Emeran and Amad.
