It’s no secret that in the beauty writing biz, we’re lucky enough to get a cheeky sneak peek of a bunch of skincare and beauty prods before they drop. From Mecca and Sephora right through to a bunch of smaller cult-fave Aussie beauty retailers, we’re privy to almost every new, shit-hot product that’s set to hit the shelves.
And instead of keeping this gold stash of info confined to our inboxes (embargoes aside, of course), we’ve decided to do the good Lord’s work and start a new monthly faves segment, whereby we’ll collate all our favourite new product drops and give you folks the exclusive dirty details.
In the spirit of not being here to fuck spiders — let’s get into what’s new this October, shall we?
The best beauty products launching in October 2024
MERIT Beauty
MERIT beauty has finally landed on Aussie shores. Described as the beauty version of your capsule wardrobe, MERIT is a curated edit of functional, high-quality makeup that looks effortless and is equally as easy to apply.
Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum & Soothing Hydration Mist
To round out the Jet Lag collection, Summer Fridays has dropped two new products: the Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum and Soothing Hydration Mist. The serum is a weightless jelly serum that instantly absorbs to deliver skin-drenching hydration. The Mist is the perfect handbag (or desk!) companion for a little hydration boost throughout the day.
CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2
If this LED mask looks familiar, you might have spotted the OG version cameo in Emily in Paris. Well, Current Body has just released the Series 2 of its best-selling LED Light Therapy Face Mask. The upgrade has more LED lights, including a deeper near-infrared wavelength that penetrates up to 10mm into the hypodermis to stimulate collagen production. Ooft!
Rare Beauty True To Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder
Gone are the days when your powder leaves your face looking powdery and cakey. Rare Beauty’s new pressed finishing powder does it all — blurs, smooths, reduces shine, and sets makeup with a natural finish that stays true to you.
YSL Loveshine Wet Shine Lipstick
If you like a little lip colour without the stiffness of a lipstick, the YSL Loveshine Wet Shine Lippie is about to become your new go-to. The formula is enriched with fig pulp and six pure nourishing oils to help nourish and hydrate your lips while giving them a pop of colour.
Djerf Beauty Haircare
The name Matilda Djerf and good hair are basically synonymous at this point. So naturally, when she announced her Djerf beauty line, we were taking notes. The first drop consisted of a styling gel and a breezy styling mist, both of which help you achieve that bouncy blowout she’s famous for. Towards the end of this month, she’s dropping six new haircare products, including shampoos, conditioners and hair masks. You can preorder it here.
Bobbi Brown Dream Gleam Luxe Eye Shadow Palette
Bobbi Brown has just dropped its holiday collection, which includes eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, shadow sticks, blush, skincare sets, and more.
Maison Louis Marie No. 14 Icila Eau De Parfum
Nothing says spring like a new scent. Maison Louis Marie has launched a new EDP that smells like ruby pampelmousse, jasmine, dark plum, vanilla and sakura blossoms. It’s warm, sophisticated, and elegant.
