Jordan Henderson has picked Liverpool’s 2019 Champions League comeback win against Barcelona as his favourite game while on Merseyside.
The Reds went into the second leg of the semi-final clash 3-0 down after a humbling defeat at Camp Nou. But after Divock Origi scored inside seven minutes to unnerve the Spanish giants, what happened next will go down as one of the most famous European nights under the lights at Anfield.
A brace from Georginio Wijnaldum levelled the tie before Origi scored his second from a quickly taken Trent Alexander-Arnold corner to secure an incredible 4-0 victory and write his name - and the evening itself - into folklore.

“Favourite game in terms of everything surrounding it would be Barcelona at home,” Henderson told Football Focus . “I think that would be one. I could go Champions League final but I think my favourite one that stands out would be Barcelona at Anfield.”
Jurgen Klopp's would go on to win the final in Madrid, beating Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 thanks to an early penalty from Mohamed Salah and a late strike from the man for the big occasions, Origi.
But a combination of the unthinkable comeback and the atmosphere it garnered made May 7, 2019 Henderson’s best memory as a Liverpool player.
