The Houston Texans are adding veteran depth to their edge defense.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Texans have agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.
The former Rams 2018 fifth-round pick from Oklahoma played his high school ball at nearby Alief Taylor in the Alief Independent School District.
Okoronkwo’s most productive season came in 2021 as he played a career-high 13 games, which allowed him to generate 15 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, 2.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Incidentally the most snaps Okoronkwo played on defense in 2021 came against the Texans in Week 8. The 6-1, 253-pound edge defender played 36 snaps and collected three combined tackles, a quarterback hit, and a half-sack.
