Tesco urgently recalls certain protein powders over safety fears

Tesco are recalling some of their most popular products as they 'may contain' metal.

Updating customers on Sunday (October 9), the FSA (Food Standards Agency) said three of the supermarket's products were being issued with the recall notice.

Citing the reason in their risk statement the FSA said: "These products may contain small pieces of metal which makes them unsafe to eat."

The affected products are Tesco's own Active Strawberry Flavoured Whey Protein and Tesco Active Chocolate Fudge Flavoured Whey Protein.

Explaining the situation they added: " Tesco is recalling the above products from customers. The company has also issued a recall to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice."

In the notice it says: "Please do not consume these products and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."
