NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and UP Warriorz’s Sophie Ecclestone were involved in a heated exchange during their Women's Premier League match in Lucknow on Thursday, prompting the on-field umpires to intervene and defuse the situation.

The altercation began at the end of the 19th over when umpire Ajitesh Argal informed Harmanpreet that, due to a slow over rate, she could have only three fielders outside the circle in the final over.
