Teams should be allowed bigger squads in World Cups: Pat Cummins

AHMEDABAD: There's now a growing feeling that, considering the nearly two-month length of the tournament and the travelling involved in a country like India, the International Cricket Council should allow teams to have squads bigger -perhaps 17 or 18-than the current limit of 15 in the ODI World Cups.

In the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup, New Zealand have lost pacer Matt Henry to a hamstring injury, while another quick Lockie Ferguson and all-rounder Jimmy Neesham too suffered from injuries. Similarly, Australia lost the explosive Glenn Maxwell to a freak injury-he fell off a golf cart here-and ace all-rounder Mitchell Marsh (returned home for a personal reason) for the key game against England on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
