Score bugs — that little thing on your broadcast that tells you the score, the time left, outs, etc. — can be useful, but then sometimes, they can drive you nuts.
That’s what’s happened during the MLB playoffs for TBS. When they’re showing the bases empty on their graphic, second base looks illuminated in a way that’s confusing fans, even though when a man is on, the score bug’s base is colored yellow.
Even though that’s the case, there have been A LOT of complaints, as you’ll see below. Here’s a roundup of what we’ve seen on X (formerly Twitter) as the ALCS continues:
My current greatest enemy is the TBS scorebug that makes it look like there’s always a runner on second pic.twitter.com/0aClA0WciP

Am I drunk or has every inning of the MLB #Postseason on TBS had second base shaded differently which is why I’m constantly confused about a runner on 2nd. #ALCS @TBSNetwork pic.twitter.com/UbTlvDJcsv

Hey @TBSNetwork, fix your scorebug. This legit looks like there's a man on 2nd, yet the bases are empty.
What's on second.
I don't know.

Dear @TBSNetwork
Why does you score bug show there's a runner on second when there's no runner on second?
In fact, it's the first batter of the inning.

@tipping_pitches how do I tell TBS they keep jumpscaring me into thinking someone is on second when it’s bases empty. pic.twitter.com/lYdOVNAD9a
