Taylor Swift’s father will not be charged over a paparazzi photographer's claim that he assaulted him on the Sydney waterfront. The incident allegedly occurred hours after the conclusion of the pop star’s Australian tour last month.
The photographer had alleged that one of Swift’s security guards forced an umbrella into his face and camera, and that Scott Swift then punched him at the Neutral Bay Wharf. This incident took place as the father and daughter had just come ashore from a yacht on February 27.
Representatives of Taylor Swift responded to the allegations by accusing members of the media of aggression during the interaction. Police initiated an investigation into the matter at the time and have now announced that no further police action will be taken.
A statement from the New South Wales Police Force confirmed that no offenses were detected, and the investigation was concluded without requiring any additional police action.
Taylor Swift recently completed the Australian leg of her Eras Tour, performing at seven stadium concerts that were attended by over 600,000 fans. The tour has been highly successful, reportedly surpassing $1 billion in earnings last year. Additionally, the film adaptation of the tour quickly rose to the top of the box office charts and became the highest-grossing concert film to date.
