Takumi Minamino says he will 'never forget the massive support' he received from the Liverpool fans in a heartfelt message on social media after it was confirmed he had completed a move to AS Monaco on Tuesday night.
The Japanese international played a huge role in Liverpool winning the FA Cup and League Cup last season as he was top scorer in both competitions for the Reds. Minamino found his game time limited and had to settle for a place on the bench much of the time.
Minamino's move to Ligue 1 side Monaco is a deal worth up to £15.5 million - if all add-ons are met - doubling the fee that Liverpool paid for the Japan star to RB Salzburg back in January 2020.

Minamino posted on his social media account: "Dearest LFC supports, I was so happy when I joined the LFC family two and a half years ago, but my time has come to an end.
"I had a fantastic time and I will never forget the massive support I received from you all at Anfield. I wish you all the best.
"Sayonara, good bye. YNWA. Taki."
