A takeaway in West Bridgford has closed down after five years. Chao Chao, in Melton Road, was an urban oriental kitchen serving traditional Cantonese food and Asian street food favourites with a fresh twist.
Takeaways in Beeston and Arnold remain open. The owners announced: "It is with great sadness that we inform you of the closure of our West Bridgford store. After year of serving you guys the decision has been made to close and move our operations to our Beeston store due to the overlap of our stores serving the same areas.
"Whilst this may be shocking and disheartening to many of you, it is important to remember we ae only down the road and we can still deliver to you from our two other stores in Beeston and Arnold."

Reviews for the West Bridgford takeaway have been mixed. One hailed it the "best street food place in Nottingham." But another said: "Unfortunately it seems to have gone downhill. The first couple of times we ordered, we loved it but the few times we have used it since have been disappointing. We now won’t bother. Shame."
Chao Chao prides itself on being the "freshest, cleanest and greenest" serving food that is free of MSG and a wide choice of gluten-free and vegan dishes presented in bio-degradable containers.
The Beeston shop, off the A52 Derby Road, and the Arnold store, in Croft Road, will continue to serve Cantonese classics of spring rolls, salt and pepper chicken and chao mein alongside Malaysian street food curries, Korean chicken wings, bao buns and teriyaki chicken donburi.
