Children who survived the Texas school shooting have been left traumatised after witnessing the blood-stained classrooms as they escaped.
Evil Salvador Ramos, 18, draped himself in body armour and marched into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas before opening fire and slaughtering 19 young children.
A fourth-grade teacher and special education teacher were also shot dead as they reportedly protected their students from the monster's gunfire.
He allegedly shot his own grandmother - her condition is not known.
Distraught parents have gathered at a community centre around two miles away from the school waiting for news on their children, with many of them still missing.
Erika Escamilla, 26, said she was forced to endure a "tortured" wait while cops retrieved information about her niece and two nephews who were students at the school.
Thankfully Erika was eventually reunited with her young relatives within a couple of hours, but the ordeal has left her 10-year-old niece "traumatised", she told the Washington Post.
Erika said her niece told her the children had returned from break to the sounds of shouting and swearing, before hearing gunshots ring out.
Teachers forced the students into the classroom and told them to get under the tables, turn off the air-conditioning and start covering the windows with paper.
Their classroom was next-door to the room where Ramos was gunning down innocent children.
As the youngsters were evacuated, Erika's niece looked into the classroom which she says was stained with blood.
Erika said: “She’s traumatised. She said she felt like she was having a heart attack.
“She saw blood everywhere.”
Two heroic teachers, Imra Garcia, 46, and co teacher, Eva Mireles, 44, laid down their lives protecting the schoolchildren.
They were both married with children of their own.
The school - where some years were preparing to break for summer - became the scene of the deadliest school shooting since Sandy Hook in Newtown, Texas, when 20 children and six staff members were slaughtered.
Several student victims who lost their lives have also now been named.
Among them are Xavier Lopez, 10, Makenna Elrod, 10, Eliahana 'Elijah Cruz' Torres, 10, Rogelio Torres, Uziyah Garcia, 8, Amerie Jo Garza, and Neveah Bravo.
The tragedies were confirmed by their heartbroken parents on Facebook, while other frantic parents have reported their children as missing, including 10 year old Annabelle Rodriguez.
Distraught families whose kids remain missing have gathered around a mile from the scene of the rampage for the past 12 hours waiting for news on their children.
At least four families were asked for DNA swabs to confirm their relationship to the children.
In harrowing footage released this morning, parents can bee seen sprinting towards the unfolding massacre as it was taking place.
The video was posted to Snapchat and shared across social media and showed at least two other people standing recording.
The caption read: “Kids are running out of the classrooms” with a broken heart emoji.
In the video the parents can be seen running towards the school in the distance.
