Supanida Katethong advanced to the women's singles quarter-finals of the US$250,000 BWF Taipei Open on Thursday.

The Thai fourth seed defeated Wen Yu Zhang of Canada 21-17, 21-11 in the second round yesterday and will play Tanvi Sharma of India next.
