Scottish Secretary claimed £4k of taxpayers money for utilities on second home
Taxpayers are footing gas and electricity bills for multi-millionaire Scottish Secretary Alister Jack – while vulnerable families cut off their supplies in terror at rising prices.
The MP – who is a senior member in Boris Johnson's zombie government – claimed £4,059 of utilities for his second home on expenses over the last three years.
But a Sunday Mail investigation has found thousands of pensioners and low-income households are being forced to "self-disconnect" because they have no money to put in pre-payment meters.
Scots computer expert earns good wage but just can't keep 'head above water'
Mark Perrie has a daily struggle to keep his head above water.
Mark, 26, earns £36,000 a year and has a take-home pay of about £2,200 a month. He said most of that is taken up paying his rent, council tax, food, clothing and other daily expenses.
The computer programmer moved into a one-bedroom flat in Dalry, Edinburgh, two years ago and has seen his rent rise from £625 to £660. However, he expects the next increase to make it over the £700 mark, which he cannot afford.
Susanna Reid's diet that caused 1.5 stone weight loss without exercise
GMB's Susanna Reid has always been open about her weight loss journey and has shared her successes and struggles.
The presenter has previously disclosed her secret to losing a stone and a half, which Susanna pulled off without stepping foot in the gym. In a struggle familiar to so many of us, the TV presenter recently admitted to gaining a few pounds over lockdown.
When Joe Wicks appeared on the morning show in June, Susanna shared that she'd found it difficult to shift the weight, telling the fitness coach: "I found it really hard to shift those pounds. What is the problem when there are so many workout plans, so many nutrition plans, what is the reason for that?”
TV star who 'slept with 700 men' says sex addiction 'ruled her life'
A reality TV star claims she slept over 700 men while struggling with a sex addiction that "ruled her life" - but says she is "not ashamed" of her past. Belinda "Love" Rygier, who appeared as a contestant on The Bachelor Australia 2017, revealed she has now been celibate for 15 months and is currently eight years into her recovery.
At the height of her addiction, when dating apps were not yet available, Belinda admitted that she would go out up to six nights a week in the hopes of finding someone to hook up with. During a candid interview on radio show You're a Grub Mate!, the 37-year-old said that she "didn't realise [she] had a problem until [she] healed it".
Family to be left 'homeless' after eviction notice served over pet dogs
A young couple with a one-year-old baby girl claim they will be left 'homeless' after being issued an eviction notice over their dogs. Connor Sullivan, 18, first moved into the Sparkhill property in March and says Everbright Housing had 'no problem' with him having pets at the time - although the housing company denies this.
He lives with his partner Jordanna, also 18, daughter Lexi and their pet dogs. The family say they received the eviction notice three weeks after the fire service attended the property when Jordanna became trapped in the bathroom due to a faulty door lock.
