FORMER Celtic star Stuart Armstrong has lifted the lif on his relationship with Joe Aribo.
The attacking midfielder left Rangers this summer to join Southampton on a four-year deal.
He arrived at St Marys in a deal which could rise up to £10million.
The Nigeria international followed the same path to the Premier League as Armstrong, who earned his move to the south coast from his time in Scottish football at Celtic.
The new teammates didn't face each other north of the border.
But despite never coming up against each other, Armstrong knew all about Aribo's talents.
Aribo notched an assist last night as Saints beat Monaco in a pre-season friendly.
Armstrong spoke to the club's website post-match.
The Scotland star was asked whether he and Aribo had any differences over their Old Firm allegiances.
He jokingly replied: "We don't talk about that!"
On Aribo, he added: "I didn't want to speak to him as soon as he came in.
"I thought I'd let him lie for a week, and then you can see in training the quality he has and he's very powerful, strong, technical, keeps the ball tight, very composed with his movement and his passing.
"So yeah a very good addition, experienced and we're very happy with him."
