BENGALURU: Close on the heels of the Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) "Yellow Alert" (Heavy Rainfall) over Bengaluru and adjoining districts within South Interior Karnataka, the city witnessed heavy thundershowers and gusty winds on Tuesday afternoon uprooting several trees and leaving low lying areas in many parts of the city inundated.
Dark clouds engulfing the city gave way to heavy thundershowers coupled with gusty winds with speeds up to 40 kmph throwing the traffic out of gear in Central Business District (CBD) areas of Bengaluru.
