Helen Skelton has revealed that her BBC colleagues have been "taking the mick" out of her all day, due to her "terrible" acting during her Strictly Come Dancing debut. The radio host and Countryfile presenter wowed judges with her dancing, but apparently left a lot to be desired in the acting department.
During the beginning of her very first dance yesterday evening (September 24), Helen had to act out writing on a notepad as she prepared to sit down at the piano. It was a short moment before a show-stopping dance, but was enough to give her work pals some ammo.
Posting a series of videos to her Instagram stories, Helen explained that acting is "not what [she] does" and that she is "trying". She later posted another video, telling fans that her producer had been ribbing her all day.

Helen said: "This is a message for Gorka and Kaye Adams, okay. Kaye and I find it difficult to 'own it' and get into character and act the dances, because it is not what we do." Helen then gestured to her BBC radio desk and said: "This is what I do, talk to people about sport and the news and farming stuff.
"But when you have to try and perform something it's a real challenge. The first thing that my producer said to me when I walked in this morning was 'woah, what about you pretending to write on a book at the beginning', and they've been taking the mick out of me all morning, because it's not what I do."
Helen later posted another video, where she was laughing about her producer continuing to wind her up about it throughout the day. She said: "It's genuinely not even funny anymore, whenever I look to my producer for support, she keeps looking at me going [gestures writing in the air] in reference to my terrible acting on last night's Strictly. I'm trying guys, I'm trying."
Even though Helen has "terrible" acting skills, her dancing skills are not half bad - as she and Gorka briefly topped the leaderboard last night. And the Leeds lass is still the bookies favourite to win the show entirely, no longer sharing joint odds with Fleur East - who's odds have dropped significantly following her performance last night.
