Strictly Come Dancing fans were left furious Fleur East once again landed in the dreaded dance-off on Sunday, as they pointed to the couple who should have been chosen.
The BBC One show embraced the spooky season this weekend as the BBC One ballroom dancing show returned for a Halloween spectacular.
Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the Halloween special on Saturday night under the watchful eye of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
However, as the hosts told viewers which couple would be the first in the dance-off, Strictly fans at home took to social media to express their outrage Fleur had been chosen, particularly given that it was her birthday.
The star celebrated the milestone on the Saturday show, as Claudia gave her a birthday cake after she and professional dance partner Vito Coppola danced the Salsa to Break My Soul by Beyonce.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “WHAT?!?! Fleur doesn't deserve to be in the dance off, there were a lot worse dances than hers.”
“Guess the public didn't care that it was her birthday... Dance offs this year have been MAD,” a second penned.
Another wrote: “Fleur is set up every week it’s actually gross,” as a fellow fan said: “Fleur getting shafted by the public yet again…”
Several viewers felt it should have been Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin in the bottom two after their lacklustre turn to the Scooby Doo theme tune.
A third wrote: “How the Hell is Fleur in the dance off she did incredible last night I thought Ellie and Nikita should have been in the dance off.”
Another chimed: “No way does Fleur deserve to be in the dance off compared to whatever it was that Ellie & nikita were doing…”
“Ellie and Nikita through to next week??? You're having a laugh aren't you British voting public?? I'm sorry but theirs was the worst dance of the night,” another wrote.
The BBC celebrated the supernatural time of year through contestants' songs, dances and costumes, with tunes ranging from Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill to the Hocus Pocus hit I Put A Spell on You.
The programme has gained a bit of a reputation over the years for going all out on Halloween and this year has not disappointed.
The judges, Moti, Anton, Shirley and Craig entered the ballroom in their ghastly getups and fans were particularly enamoured with Craig's Halloween costume.
Strictly's most notorious judge particularly captured the viewer's hearts as Morticia from the iconic Addam's Family, while Shirley dressed as husband Gomez.
