Strictly Come Dancing has long been a BBC staple and fans of the ballroom competition are used to settling down to the live show on a Saturday night, with the results being announced on the following night.
However, in a major schedule shake-up bosses have announced the next live show, which happens to be the 2022 quarter-final, will take place on Friday, December 2. Presenter Tess Daly confirmed the news, telling viewers who tuned into the latest results show that the show would also air at a later time.
The host said: "We will be back at 8pm next Friday. Yes, you heard right, Friday." The change is being made for the World Cup and will also see the quarter final results moved to Saturday, December 3 at the earlier time of 5:40pm.

Strictly also shared the news on their official social media pages, telling viewers: "We're on your screens on Friday and Saturday this week, so set your reminders for Strictly now!"
Many were not pleased with the changes, with one fan writing: "Why not put the football on BBC Two instead of completely messing up the schedule." While another added: "Well it finally happened. Strictly got shunted for the football."
And a third commented: "Change the football not the flagship weekend show. Surely this is a disadvantage to the dancers to only have 4 days to practice."
It comes after Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radube became the latest couple to leave the BBC competition. The pair lost out to Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the dreaded dance-off.
The couples now through to this week's quarter final are:
Will Mellor and Nancy Xu
Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał
Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu
Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez
Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima
Fleur East and Vito Coppola
Strictly Come Dancing's quarter final will air on Friday, December 2 at 8pm on BBC One with a musicals weeks special. The quarter-final results will take place on Saturday, December 3 at the earlier time of 5:40pm. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
