Stormy Daniels wants Donald Trump to go to prison - and she's happy to help put him there

Porn star Stormy Daniels has said Donald Trump “absolutely” deserves to go to jail, adding she will testify if he stands trial over a hush money payment made to her.

The adult film star spoke out about the former president’s arrest and arraignment on 34 felony counts just days after he became the first former president to be criminally charged.

Speaking to Piers Morgan’s TalkTV show, she said the thought of being a witness in his trial was “scary”.

“Any time you’re up in the public eye, it’s scary. I mean, I used to get scared given an oral book report at school,” Daniels said.

“So it’s daunting, but I look forward to it because I have nothing to hide. I’m the only one who has been telling the truth.”

Daniels, 44, said she feels Trump deserves prison if found guilty of the accusations he is accused of.

She said: “Specific to my case, I don’t think that his crimes against me are worthy of incarceration.

Daniels went on: “I feel like the other things that he has done if he is found guilty, absolutely, because a bigger problem is that if these allegations against him - or whatever else that we don’t know yet - he is found guilty, or the evidence suggests that he is or whatever and he doesn’t, that it’s going to just basically.

“I mean it opens the door for other people to think they can get away with doing that and worse.”

Trump pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to 34 counts of fraud and conspiracy during his arraignment in the Manhattan criminal court.

If found guilty, he faces up to four years in prison.

He has repeatedly claimed the charges are part of a “witch hunt” against him.

Trump has always denied having sex with Daniels, which she said happened in 2006 at a charity golf tournament while Trump was married to Melania, 52,

Just weeks before the 2016 US election, which he won, the porn star planned to sell her story.

Instead, she was paid $130,000 (£105,000) by the National Enquirer magazine in a deal prosecutors claim was purely to buy her silence on behalf of Trump.

Asked if that meant she wanted to give evidence, she confirmed, “I do, I do”, giving a firm “Oh, absolutely” that she would appear if called.

Speaking to Morgan, the porn star suggested that not getting called at an eventual trial could ruin the validity of her whole story.

“I feel like if they don’t, it paints the picture that they know something about me that makes me untrustworthy or not reliable,” she told Morgan.

“Having them call me in and put me on the stand legitimises my story, and who I am, and if they don’t, it almost feels like they’re hiding me.”

Without that, she said people would “automatically assume, I would, that oh, she must not be a good witness.

“She’s not credible.”
