Stocks Mixed as Bond Yields Climb

US Federal Reserve United States Williams ECB Barkin Interest Rates Inflation Barclays Lovesac Co New York Fed

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) is up +0.22%, the Dow Jones Industrials Index ($DOWI) (DIA) is down -0.23%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is up +0.74%. 

Stock indexes today are mixed as bond yields continue to climb.  The 10-year T-note yield today rose to a new 4-3/4 month high on hawkish comments from New York Fed President Williams and Richmond Fed President Barkin, who said the Fed can take its time before cutting interest rates.  Also, weekly US jobless claims fell more than expected to a 5-week low, a hawkish factor for Fed policy.
