Stacey Solomon has asked fans not to shout at her as she attempted to baby wear for the first time.
The presenter, 33, and husband Joe Swash, 41, welcomed their daughter Belle earlier this month.
And as the mum-of-five attempted to get some hands-free time with her new daughter as she cares for her brood, Stacey tried out a sling.
Stacey has been sharing updates with her followers on Instagram since the newborn's arrival, and asked for helpful tips as she attempted to strap her tiny baby into the fabric carrier safely.
The telly personality filmed herself in a time-lapse video as her second youngest child, little Rose, played around her.
She was seen expertly trying the grey fabric wrap around her torso and over her shoulders while holding Belle to her chest.
She captioned the clip: “So it’s the last day of half term before they’re back to school so we went for a nice lonnnng walk this morning.
“This is the first time I’ve ever tried a sling so if I’m doing it wrong please just message some helpful tips. Don’t shout at me. Belle loved it in here & it was so nice to have her so close to me.” [sic]
A short while later, she posted another snap of her beaming while outside with Belle cuddled in the sling.
She posted a response from a follower on the lovely picture, which read: “You did SO well she is in a lovely position g just pull one more panel up from the bottom to cover the V xx” [sic]
Stacey, who fronts BBC ’s Sort Your Life Out, responded: “Actually love you all so much. Like having a second family on here.”
Slings can be a useful way to remain close to baby, encourage bonding and enable you to hold baby hands-free.
Official advice to those wanting to baby wear recommends keeping in mind the TICKS guidelines for safety:
- Tight
- In view at all times
- Close enough to kiss
- Keep chin off the chest
- Supported back
This is to ensure that baby’s airway is kept clear, and so you can check that they are able to breathe easily and are not overheating.
Later on Monday, Stacey revealed that she had been to Belle’s two-week check up appointment with her health visitor where she was weighed.
Taking a snap of little Belle on the baby weighing scale, Stacey wrote: “We just had our 2 week health visitor check and for the first time in 5 baby’s Belle is above her birthweight of 5lb 10ounces and is now 6lb 8 ounces. I had a little cry! Breastfeeding is working well & she’s loving it. My little piggy.” [sic]
Belle is the youngest of Stacey's children. Her and Joe were already parents to Rex, three, and Rose, one. Their family also includes Stacey's sons Zachary, 14, and Leighton, 10, as well as Joe's son Harry, 15, from previous relationships.
Stacey announced Belle's birth last week, writing: "Can't believe your here [...] We can't wait to love you forever and ever we are so grateful we get to be your family".
